Tips & Tricks (2025 Guide)

A TopHeroes fan guide to building your kingdom and conquering the world!

New Player Checklist

Use this 10-step checklist to start fast without wasting resources. Pair it with the Ultimate Hero Guide and the Events pages.

1

Level Your Castle (Smartly)

Castle level gates most progression. Prioritize your castle upgrades while keeping builders busy on other important buildings (see below). Let the timers run down while you play events and farm resources. Each time your castle is upgraded you'll be able to add "5" levels to your heros which makes you stronger! Save your meat for these level up's!

2

Explore the Adventure Mode Map Fully

Clear fog, open chests, rescue villagers, and grab early tickets and Diamonds. Explore → upgrade → explore again. You can farm the bosses until all the loot is claimed. However, you will loose stamina overtime. Luckily you get 160 stamina free daily!

3

Keep Troop Training Queues Rolling

Train your troops 24/7. It's very important to always have troops training, advance the Barracks and faction statue buildings so your army scales with your castle.

4

Join a Guild Early

Guild help speeds builds, unlocks bosses and shop perks, and provides protection and guidance.

5

Farm Bosses & Materials Between Upgrades

On the world map farm the highest boss you can beat, track spawns, and farm resources to gain extra resources. When doing rallies its important to choose a troop level that isn't too high until your heroes are leveled up. On special events loosing to a higher level boss will cause soliders to get injurned for you and your rally mates.

6

Build a Balanced Squad & Synergize Factions

When you start you'll have a mixed team, but switch to a main faction asap. The three factions are Horde, Nature and League. We have detailed guides on the site about hero's and their queues.

7

Focus Hero Upgrades & Hit Breakpoints

Don’t spread resources too thin. Push mythic heroes to key levels to unlock skills and power and then focus on your legendary heroes..

8

Spend Diamonds Wisely (Events > Impulse)

Save Diamonds for event shops and big-value milestones; avoid nickel-and-dime upgrades.

9

Understand Morale & Queue Management

Morale swings fights. Learn how to build and maintain it and avoid idle queues.

10

Use Community Knowledge

Check guides, Discords, and tier lists to avoid common pitfalls and resource traps.

Buildings & Research Priorities (New Players)

Start with your foundation first (Castle, Training, Tech), then layer in high-impact research (march size, queues, Arms Race) and combat power.

Building priority (early game)

  1. Castle — gates all other buildings and hero level caps. Always push Castle when prereqs are ready.
  2. Research Cottage (Tech) — unlocks higher tech tiers and improves research throughput; keep this close to Castle level.
  3. Training Ground & Faction Barracks — keep queues running 24/7; upgrade regularly so troop strength doesn’t lag.
  4. Hospital — increases capacity so wounded don’t die at cap; crucial during events/PvP.
  5. Medal Hall — huge stat building: every level boosts all soldiers HP; level it steadily alongside Castle.
  6. Guild / Watchtower / Warehouse — upgrade as needed to meet Castle prereqs and for quality-of-life (scouting, protection).
Tip: Check Castle upgrade requirements first, then bring required buildings up just enough to unlock the next Castle level.

Research priority (early game)

  1. Queue / March Size — push queue capacity and march size early; these speed up everything (events, farming, rallies).
  2. Growth / Economy — Construction Speed & Research Speed compounding benefits; train speed & healing rate are strong.
  3. Arms Race Prep & Commendation — boosts performance and rewards in the Guild Arms Race; invest steadily.
  4. Soldier / Combat — core ATK/DEF/HP nodes for broad power; prioritize your main lineup’s needs.
  5. Hero & Faction-specific — once you pick a primary faction, lean into that tree for the biggest returns.
Pro move: Line up big research finishes with event windows for extra rewards; save diamond spend for event shops/milestones.
