Troop Morale & Power

Troop Morale is a crucial hidden stat that gives an attack boost of up to 300% in battle, based on which side has higher morale. A higher morale score results in a significant damage boost, while low morale can lead to your troops taking more damage. Here's a deeper look into how it works and how to boost it:

The Morale System

  • Morale Boost: When your troops' morale is higher than the enemy's, they gain a damage bonus proportional to the morale difference.
  • Damage Cap: The damage bonus you can receive is capped at three times the normal damage.
  • Morale and March Size: Your total morale is calculated by multiplying the base morale of your troops by your total march size. This means that a larger army is essential for a higher morale score.

Key Ways to Increase Morale

  • Increase Troop Level: Upgrading your troop level in the Barracks, through Arms Race Preparation Tech, and within the Brilliance Institute directly boosts the base morale of your soldiers.
  • Increase March Size: A larger march size is the most effective way to raise your morale. You can increase your march size through Hero Levels, Statues, Research, and the Lord's Hall Warlord trait.
  • Equip Castle Skins & Decorations: Certain castle skins and decorations can also provide a morale bonus. Be on the lookout for these from events and in-game rewards.
  • VIP Level: Reaching VIP Level 12 gives a permanent march size increase.
  • Villagers: Certain villagers can also provide a bonus to your march size.

Soldier and Troop Strategies

The "No Soldier Rally" Strategy

One of the most popular strategies for conserving soldiers, especially in auto-rallies, is the "no soldier rally" approach. This is useful for earning rewards without risking your army.

  • The Problem: Running a rally with soldiers can result in some being injured or dying.
  • The Solution: Before starting a rally, go to the hero selection screen and manually remove all soldiers from your heroes' squads. Only your heroes will participate in the battle.
  • The Result: Your heroes will still fight and you will still receive rewards, but you won't lose any soldiers to injury or death. This is particularly useful for earning points in certain in-game events.

Troop Skins: A Strategic Overview

Troop skins are not just cosmetic; they provide significant boosts to your soldiers and can be the difference-maker in combat. Epic skins can be applied to all queues, but legendary skins can only be applied to one.

  • PvP (Player vs. Player): Look for skins like the Samurai Skin (offensive boosts) or Heavy Cavalry Skin (faster PvP march speed to prevent being caught while vulnerable).
  • PvE (Player vs. Environment): The Bear Skin Warrior is a great choice for PvE-focused players, and the Siege Vehicle Skin is recommended for "spenders" to boost damage against monsters.
  • Unique Skills: The Skeleton Soldier skin has a unique ability to decrease opponent's morale in rallies, making your soldiers more effective and survivable.
  • Faction Skins: Both League (Desert Knight) and Nature (Tree Spirit) have faction-specific skins that increase morale and provide HP boosts when all heroes in the queue are from the same faction.
