Tips & Tricks (2025 Guide)

A TopHeroes fan guide to building your kingdom and conquering the world!

Season 1 Guide

Season 1, also known as "Shadow of the World Tree," introduces new mechanics, resources, and events that fundamentally change the gameplay. Here’s what you need to know to succeed.

Key Changes & New Resources

  • New Resource - Water: Season 1 introduces Water, which is essential for progressing through the season's adventure map. You cannot advance without it.
  • The Spring Building: You will get a new building, the Spring, which generates Water over time. Upgrading the Spring is a top priority to increase your water production and storage.
  • Sandstorms: A new map feature that can impact marches and battles. Be mindful of their location and effects when planning attacks or gathering. Make sure to drink and doante water!

Main Events & Tasks

  • Dune Devourer: This is a recurring world boss event. Participating is crucial as the rewards are excellent, especially if you can rank in the top 100. It's a major source of branches and currency for the Season 1 shop.
  • Pet Rush: This event gives points for using pet food. It's wise to save your pet food for this event to maximize rewards and get ahead on your pet progression.
  • Kingdom vs Kingdom (KvK): As always, save your speed-ups, shards, and other resources for the daily tasks during KvK to help your server and earn powerful personal rewards.

Strategic Priorities & Tips

  • Prioritize S1 Research: The Season 1 research tree offers powerful, permanent bonuses that persist after the season ends. This should be your absolute top priority. Focus on nodes that boost your S1 resource generation and combat stats first.
  • Rush Adventure Mode Gates: In the Season 1 adventure mode, your main goal should be to use your Water to unlock gates as quickly as possible. Make sure to upgrade your spring as well otherwise you might have issues advancing the gagtes. You can also bypass and ignore the bosses until much later to progress faster and unlock more of the map. The bosses hit hard!
  • Upgrade Your Spring: Leveling up your Spring building is critical. The rewards for a high-level spring (up to level 35 is recommended for max rewards) are significant, and the decorations it provides carry over to Season 2, giving you a head start.

Season 2 Guide

Season 2, known as "Ember of the Frozen Flame," builds on the mechanics of the first season while introducing new challenges, resources, and a strong emphasis on single-faction teams.

Key Changes & New Mechanics

  • The Furnace: This new building replaces the Spring from Season 1. Your primary goal is to keep the furnace active and upgrade it to generate the season's main resource.
  • Blizzards: Instead of Sandstorms, the map is now affected by Blizzards, which introduce new environmental challenges.
  • Frost Fire Cores: This is the primary currency for Season 2, earned by completing objectives and milestones. You'll spend these in the seasonal shop.
  • Snow Plundering: You can now plunder snow on the map, which is a new micro-game that can yield hidden rewards. This will unlock when your guild captures ruins. Additionally, you will receive 10 attempts per day.

Ember of the Frozen Flame Shop Priorities

How you spend your Frost Fire Cores is critical to your success. The consensus strategy is to prioritize permanent buffs first.

  1. Decorations First: Your absolute first priority should be to purchase all of the decorations from the shop. These provide permanent, account-wide buffs to march size, soldier HP, and soldier attack.
  2. Dragon Essence: After securing all decorations, Dragon Essence becomes the next priority. This resource is essential for upgrading your buildings to the new "Brilliance" levels when your castle gets above level 40.

Strategic Priorities & Tips

  • High-Temp Furnance: You will want to level this up in your castle, also you can put this into overdrive to drive up your damage buffs to world bosses.
  • Iron Workshop: This is a seasonal buiulding that will generate iron for you just like the other resource buildings you currently have.
  • World Bosses:Legion Boss gets a boost to level 9, Frost Titan is the Season 2 version of the KoB from Season 1. Frontbone Dragon is the replacement for Dune Devourer, same mechanics as season 1.
  • Keep the Furnace Active: Just like the Spring in S1, you need to constantly manage and upgrade your Furnace to ensure you have enough resources to progress.
  • New Tech Tree: Season 2 introduces a new research tree. Prioritize this new tree as it offers significant bonuses that are crucial for the season's challenges. Specifically the +5 to your hero level.
